How to improve the rotation efficiency of Crane Rope drum
1. Optimize mechanical structure
Bearing selection and maintenance: Selecting high-precision, low-friction bearings is essential to improving the rotation efficiency of the reel. For example, tapered roller bearings or spherical roller bearings can withstand large radial and axial loads and have low friction during operation. At the same time, ensure that the bearings are well lubricated, check and replace the grease regularly to prevent increased friction due to insufficient lubrication.
There are also strict requirements for the installation accuracy of bearings. During installation, the matching accuracy of the inner and outer rings of the bearings, the shaft and the seat hole must be ensured to avoid eccentricity or over-tightening or over-loosening, and reduce the additional resistance caused by improper installation.
Optimization of the reel structure
Ensure that the cylindricity and concentricity of the drum meet high-precision standards. During the manufacturing process, advanced processing technology, such as CNC lathe processing, is used to accurately control the dimensional accuracy of the drum. Poor concentricity will cause the drum to vibrate during rotation and increase energy loss, while good cylindricity can make the wire rope smoother when winding and releasing.
Reasonably design the wall thickness of the drum. If the wall thickness is too thick, it will increase the deadweight and moment of inertia of the drum and reduce the rotation efficiency; if the wall thickness is too thin, it may not be able to withstand the tension of the wire rope. According to the lifting capacity and working level of the crane, the appropriate wall thickness is determined through precise mechanical calculations.
2. Reduce friction factors
Rope groove treatment: Fine processing and surface treatment of the rope groove of the drum. The surface of the rope groove should be smooth and low in roughness, which can be achieved through grinding, polishing and other processes. This can reduce the friction coefficient between the wire rope and the rope groove, making it easier to wind and release the wire rope on the drum.
Choose the right rope groove shape. For example, the helix angle of the spiral rope groove should be designed reasonably. According to the diameter of the wire rope and the working requirements of the crane, the size of the helix angle should be optimized so that the wire rope can slide naturally along the rope groove during winding and reduce friction.
Wire rope selection and lubrication: Choose high-quality, flexible wire ropes. Good quality wire ropes have a smooth surface, excellent bending and stretching properties, and can reduce friction when used with the drum. At the same time, regular lubrication of the wire rope and the use of special wire rope lubricants can not only reduce the friction between the wire rope and the drum, but also prevent the wire rope from rusting and wearing.
